Open mic nights for spoken word and original music in Wānaka. Hosted in our Malt Room, every second Wednesday of every month at 7pm!
POWDER CHUTES, 21st December
Powder Chutes are squeezing a last minute gig in before Christmas and the imminent arrival of 2025.
Fresh from a whirlwind of being picked last minute by Highly Suspect to open for them at both TSB Arena in Christchurch, and Spark Arena in Auckland, Powder Chutes are doing a last minute pre-Christmas gig at Rhyme & Reason Brewery.
Along for the ride are Garage Punk Rock Wahini's Estrogen from Queenstown, and Wanaka's Worst Band SLOW... Boom!
We've just had a new merch order come in too, so its the perfect chance to grab a tee or a cap to slip in Santa's Sack!
There will be Early Birds for 24 hours (ish) or until they are gone.
We all know RxR is a sick venue, but there will only be 80 tickets, and very limited door sales, so get your FOMO on and amongst it now.

Chali 2na and The House of vibe - Supported by Big Sima X BoomTown
Rhyme X Reason Brewery are proud to be hosting True Legends, Chali 2na and The House of Vibe, with support from Big Sima and Boomtown on January 2nd 2025.
Most known for co-founding music groups, Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli, Chali released his debut solo album Fish Outta Water in 2009. Since then, he has toured the world 10 times over with his 3-piece band known as the House Of Vibe.
This one off show is something Wānaka has never seen before, Kicking off at 5pm we have expanded the venue to accommodate a larger number of people to enjoy the music outdoors and during the day in the height of the Aotearoa summer.
Returning to Rhyme X Reason Brewery we have a supporting act in the Ōtautahi based Big Sima and the full band Boom Town! After 3 previous Sell-Out shows at RXR we couldn't be more stoked to have these guys back to get the party started.
This Midsummer day Party will start at 5pm and go on until 10:30pm.
This is a strictly R18+ Event, Valid I.D will be Required.

Lee Martin Live!
Lee Martin is bringing her Dreamers Dawn album tour to Wanaka! Join her for an intimate night of music, where she'll perform as a duo with Benny Lill on saxophone. With Lee on guitar and vocals, the pair will deliver heartfelt songs from her newest album, capturing the raw emotions of personal challenges and transformation. This is a night of soulful storytelling and musical connection you won't want to miss!
